As a comprehensive high school, Roosevelt offers an educational program of great diversity. It offers a program of study that affords students the opportunity to pursue post secondary education or the world of work.
It is the mission of Theodore Roosevelt High School to provide experiences, which will promote the growth and development of each student to the fulfillment of his/her greatest potential. We hope to establish a learning environment and educational experiences for all students that will instill desirable qualities of character with special emphasis on the concept of right and wrong as interpreted by the American democratic philosophy. Much emphasis is placed on preparing each student to assume full responsibilities of citizenship in order to prepare him/her for a meaningful life.
We believe that every child has the ability to learn, and that we must build on this positive assumption. The staff of Theodore Roosevelt Senior High School will be responsible for providing leadership for the delivery of educational services to all students. Our ultimate goal is to expand the meaning of learning, not just shorten the space between theory and practice. Our commitment will be consistent with the mission and philosophy of the District of Columbia Public Schools.
